Friday through Monday. This is not a course for the beginning student.
This $1,800 course is for people who:
RECENTLY graduated from a Basic Course
and feel they were not ready to go to work after finishing the Basic Course
elsewhere; or are in need of
an EXTENSIVE REFRESHER; or have not worked for an extended period of time and
realize they need a
refresher course. To take this course one must produce a certificate of Basic Course
Graduation.
This course reviews all of the basics. Most people taking this course: realize they
were not taught
enough to work on clients and are concerned about working on clients on their own;
or were not happy with
the previous outcome; or they realize they still need most of the beginner training before
going to work.
This course is designed for those who have their own equipment; we can provide
the equipment
to take the course if the student does not bring their own for the course. we
do offer proper equipment and supplies.
Our courses meet the standards as set by the American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM). One of the most important aspects of any facility is its reputation. The best way to check out a Trainer or the training quality is to talk with previous graduates. We will provide prospective students with emails to graduates upon request. Janice believes people learn by doing and even though each student is provided with their own Training Manual, the main emphasis is "hands on" training and the entire course is taught in the clinic. Students progress through the course learning each phase prior to proceeding to the next level.
To ensure each student receives the personal attention demanded while studying this art, we strive for 2 students per instructor, cannot always guarantee this because of the demand for people to train with us. In order to satisfy the needs of most students, the school starts on Friday mornings; this allows for a minimum of time away from the student's current job while learning the art of Permanent Make Up. Depending on some students' needs, Janice will teach classes starting on other days of the week.
Due to the quality of our Copyrighted Training Manual, it can only be purchased by PMU Practitioners who are not studying with us once proof of basic training is established at a cost of $250 USD.
Once the $500 combination deposit and registration for a course is received, our manual and other paperwork will be mailed to the student for study prior to taking the course; 10 hours of credit are granted for studying the manual. Should the prospective student cancel, then a charge of $250 for the manual will be withheld along with the $150 registration fee. The procedure for cancellation after the deposit is received can be found at the end of this page and a detailed explanation can be found on our Refunds Page.
In addition to students learning the importance of complete documentation, students also learn photographic techniques during their training. "One picture tells a 1,000 words" has been said by many people over the years; this is very true in Permanent Cosmetics. We use Digital pictures for proper documentation of client procedures.
The tuition covers all materials and supplies to take the course. Then when the student graduates, she or he may also purchase a complete line of supplies for their business to take with them so once the student returns home, she or he is fully ready to work in her/his present jot, just adding more expertise and is more flexible.
Most students will take Advanced Training within a year of taking the Basic Course so Janice offers the FREE introduction discussions so the student will know the full scope of our profession and will know what Advanced Training is needed without wasting money.
What if the student wants the training really bad, needs the training to add to the business, but just cannot afford the time away to take the course? Considering the increase of income, the time away is worth it, but if the student just cannot be torn away. Janice will come to you. The cost for the course tuition is a modest, additional $300, the student pays for: air fare, lodging, and $150 for each travel day to compensate Janice for not being able to work in her clinic because of the travel to the student for the student's benefit. The student is responsible to arrange for models. All of this is quite reasonable when considering the convenience of the student not having to travel, but able to stay at home; the student has the benefit of being able to work during the days Janice is traveling; and the student is already developing a client base from the list of models used from her community. If the student is within 100 miles from our clinic, Janice will travel to the student, the student will pay the current IRS rate for mileage, the student will arrange lodging in a motel agreeable to Janice, and the student will arrange for her or his models to accomplish the the number of procedures we guarantee for the course chosen. This can be a tremendous advantage to the student.
Most students come from the far corners of the United States and the World, they fly into the Jacksonville International Airport; we meet all fly-in students who take the Basic Course or, arrangements can be made for students taking other courses. For students we pick up at the airport we take them to the motel they have made their own lodging arrangements with, pick them up each day, and then take them back to the airport for their return flight at no additional cost. We also teach our courses in Kernersville, NC and Bismarck, North Dakota.
Janice hopes all prospective students will consider the fact Janice is a Certified National Instructor (CMI), Board Certified by the AAM & AAM Fellow. Janice is also a former Member Trainer with the SPCP.
Janice also hopes that prospective students realize the courses taught are approved by the AAM. Also, that after graduation with Janice, the average student usually has performed 12 full procedures or, at least the guaranteed 8 prior to the end of the chosen course. A Full Procedure means: from greeting the model; Consultation; procedure work-up; photos; topical application; the procedure; post-procedure procedures including after-care; photos; scheduling of the mandatory 6 week evaluation and Touch-Up. That the student, by graduating with Janice, can join any of the major permanent cosmetics societies and can purchase insurance coverage. That students will be familiar with the different types of pigment applicators even though each student will be taught on the Coil Machine and or the optional Digital Machine if added to the course. Some facilities emphasize use of the rotary type machines and some even provide the student with one as a part of the tuition, but we wish to state strongly that the Coil Machine, the current work-horse of the industry has been the favorite machine of choice by almost everyone in the business and now the new digital is as well because it, like the coil, has the power to do any and all Permanent Cosmetics procedures. So the only two machines we teach and endorse are the Coil and the Digital. And finally, Janice hopes each prospective student will carefully evaluate all of the advantages presented here emphasizing the quality of the training by studying with her.
Another point, what if a prospective student is concerned about the cost of the course and would like to know an efficient way to pay for the tuition and all costs of the training? If a prospective student, prior to taking the course, "lines" up 7 or more procedures to complete upon returning home, the course and supplies are paid for and possibly even the airfare. Where else can a person go to start a new and exciting career, business and have the cost of this related field paid for almost immediately?
What does it take to schedule? It is easy. A Deposit of $500.00. This sets the
class date and is non re-fundable and students may re-schedule their training
for a future date.
non refundable $150
Registration Fee is required to reserve a seat in a class. Since
classes are taught just about every week, it should be little or no problem to
schedule to take the course at your convenience. Once the registration and
deposit fees are received and the class date is set should there be a reason
to re-schedule or drop
taking the course for the time being, the Registration Fee of $150.00 will be
held. Should a student schedule a class anytime in the future, the deposit
then required is only $350.00 since the registration fee was already paid.
Since each class is normally
limited to a small number for the students' benefit, then it is necessary to make
the Registration Fee non refundable. For a detailed explanation
of course Re-fund Policy.
In Summary. We meet or exceed the requirements
of the A.A.M.; each student is scheduled for full procedures,
we guarantee, in writing, each
student will perform at least the number of procedures depending on the chosen
course; we supply
the models; we normally limit our class size to a small number per class or we
try to have 2 students per
Trainer; each student receives our copyrighted Training Manual; our Training
Manual is used by one state as a reference in their Permanent Cosmetics Training
Course; Our Training Manual is in the process of being converted to a course
text book to be sold to institutions of higher learning and to the public
even though our original
Training Manual will still be supplied to students in its present format;
our emphasis is "hands on" training, you learn by doing, not reading;
sanitation and sterilization are taught correctly. Janice is a Clinically
Certified Electrologist and Electrolysis Trainer; Sterilization is a major
part of her expertise; even though sanitation and sterilization
procedures are taught correctly and each student will
be taught the proper procedures
to use to work safely and meet the requirements of their local health department.
It should be
noted that to be certified in sanitation &
sterilization, everyone working with open skin
should take the Federally mandated Bloodborne Pathogens Course to meet
the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.1030. This course is available each year at the
National Convention of the SPCP. Each student will be taught:
Eye Brows, Eye Liner, Lip Liner
Full Lips, Beauty Marks; each student will use or have a demo on: hand methods,
the coil machine, other needle machines, the digital machine,
application of anesthetics, needle groupings and uses; color theory; shading,
pointilistic techniques; pointilistic hair strokes, dots; scrubbing; outlines;
plus some other techniques as time permits,
and introduced to additional methods. Some other
important areas thoroughly covered are
documentation, how to set up your business, digital and high quality, polaroid
close up, photography, computer software and cameras. To read more about the
areas covered, please
return to the Home Page and then link to the Training Manuals Page and read the
chapter titles.
