Janice T. Eyerly, C.C.E., P.E.
Rev: September 11, 2004

Offers a complete Electrolysis course. Janice studied at the Southern Institute of Electrology for 6 months, 8 hours a day taking the most advanced course offered. Janice is a member of the Society of Clinical and Medical Hair Removal, known as the S.C.M.H.R. (Formerly known as the S.C.M.E. until very recently) Janice is a Certified Clinical Electrolgist known as a C.C.E. The C.C.E. is awarded via a national testing group standard and must be renewed every five years either by the preferred method of Continued Education Units (CEUs) or by re-testing. Janice maintains her C.C.E. current by taking CEUs.

There is or seems to be a renewed interest in conventional Electrolysis. This is probably the result of Laser, although it is good, being offered primarily in big cities where there are the numbers of people available to make the Laser a viable option, but in smaller communities, the need for Electrolysis is just as great, but the cost of the Laser machines prohibits the Laser being available to everyone. It should be noted that even with Laser, the treatments are not a one time situation, but the Laser can treat a larger area in each session and costs a lot more and after some period of time, say, 6 months, additional treatment is usually required. So the conventional modes of Electrolysis: the Galvanic, Thermolysis, and the Blend. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. The Blend is the most cost and operationally efficient mode since it blends the other 2 modes giving the client the best of both with a high percentage of successful hair removal than Thermolysis and cheaper than the cost of the slow, but sure Galvanic method. To sum up the current situation: many of the Electrolysis schools have stopped operation because, in our opinion, the demand for conventional Electrolysis training decreased with the Laser coming on the scene. This new love affair with the Laser has calmed down some and smaller communities realize the Laser is not available to them, so the demand for conventional Electrolysis is on the rise. Janice studied at the SIE mentioned above and she carries on the tradition of that school by teaching and sharing what she learned at the SIE and her continuing education in this exciting field. So Janice has grown from the solid foundation received at the SIE and is willing to share this knowledge.

We always encourage prospective students to talk with previous graduates via email for the initial contact. Visit our Home Page and Link to the Reference page to contact graduates of the Permanent Make Up Courses and the Electrolysis Course.

The Basic Course involves some home study to save the student the expense of living in a motel and being away from family for a long period of time as did Janice. Once the home study with testing is completed, the student will attend her or his on site study in our formal clinic. The first phase of study will be testing on the home study section unless testing is completed by mail beforehand. The first phase of study will be medical terminology, machines and settings, theory, and then, when completed satisfactorily, the student will start the "hands on" section of training. The practical, hands on, section of the course will be the longest and the student will gain the proper level of expertise both in knowledge and practical application prior to graduation. Upon graduation, the student will receive a certificate stating the number of hours of the course, the subject matter studied and a statement, the student has gained the knowledge level to satisfactorily practical Electrolysis in any of the 3 modes; Galvanic, Thermolysis, and the Blend. The student will also receive a transcript of the subjects studied and the number of hours studied in each area.
